Keckley Silent Check Valves are suited for liquid applications only. Applications requiring natural gas, steam or vacuum service revert to options under the Keckley Double Disc Wafer Check Valve product line. Available in multiple soft-seated or hardseated options: Buna, EPDM, Viton® PTFE Teflon, Neoprene and specified grades of stainless steel.
Keckley silent check valves are machined from rugged castings to meet exact specifications and are designed for applications where protection from flow reversal is required. Furthermore, the spring-assisted design allows the valve to close "ahead" of reverse flow once the pump is shut down. This check valve design reduces pressure spikes and the effect that water hammer can have on a plumbing system – reducing associated maintenance costs.
If water hammer is causing maintenance related issues in your plumbing system – look towards a Keckley silent check valve as a potential alleviation. Some key benefits of metal seated valves over soft-seated valves is their improved temperature rating, and the ability to be used in highly corrosive or abrasive applications.
